Eg, how realistic is Laysla de Oliveira's pull-up sequence?
Authors of the appallingly negative reviews of this thrilling series are entitled to their opinions. However, they appear driven by a particular agenda and seem unduly fixated on minutiae.
Well, so do I
Many of the negative critics claim direct subject matter experience. While Lioness may contain enough technical misses to keep it from qualifying as a special operations documentary, there are so many more details that it gets right – some of them startlingly so – so that it stands head and shoulders above most of the programming that one would compare it to.
Lioness delivers, and how!
For example, I, myself, switched to Lioness after starting out watching Heart of Stone. I usually enjoy Gal Gadot, but I wanted to see something with a bit more red meat.
From the action and plot to a relatable cast of characters embodied by a truly stellar cast, it's all eminently bingeable!

It's really terrible
I mean, again, I've never cared about writing reviews until this one. I legit think the kids were at risk during this filming.
The look on the little kids face wasn’t acting, she was legit scared!
I'm positive that in one of the scenes when the kid gets hit by a boogie board in the back of the head, she actually got hit by the boogie board! This movie is not only terrible in the story telling but these kids were actually put in dangerous situations.
I'm getting my money back
It feels gross to support how these directors were so desperate to make their movie that they put innocent kids in absurd situations. Also, they probably didn't even have permission to film at these locations.

Charles, a retired man, finds a new lease on life when he answers a private investigator’s ad and becomes a mole in a secret investigation into a nursing home. Based on the Chilean documentary “El Agente Topo”. Writing a review of this show requires familiarity with the context and content.
Having three parents dealing with the challenges of assisted living made it all the more enjoyable and more touching
Ted Danson plays an 80-year-old widower (Charles) who is struggling to establish a new routine after his wife dies from dementia-related health issues. In a series of classic sitcom plot devices, Charles lands a job as an undercover detective at an assisted living facility (what used to be called a “nursing home”) to solve a jewelry theft. Her boss, Lilah Richcreek Estrada as Julie, is a black-and-white, anything-goes woman to solve the case, a sarcasm to Danson’s kind and square Charles.
The two are quickly put at odds with the structure of the facility
director (well played by Stephanie Beatriz as Didi), Charles’ daughter Emily (Mary Elizabeth Ellis), and the various residents and their many silly problems. There are several poorly conceived jokes about the older women being lecherous that don’t fit with the rest of the stories, and the outrageously disrespectful (and interchangeable) stories of Charles’ daughter’s three teenage sons are distracting and throwaway. The best parts are Charles’ slow immersion into his new community with some social connections with other residents, especially Caleb, played by Stephen McKinley Henderson.
The awkward banter between Charles and Chief Julie is funny
Also funny are the jokes and comments about assisted living and the things that happen there. And while daughter Emily’s family life isn’t all that interesting, it does make for a couple of great scenes between her and Charles in later episodes. The conclusion isn’t all that hard to figure out (who stole what, and what will happen to Charles), but the sentimental bits of Charles’s awakening and acceptance of his wife’s death are very serviceable.
Overall, I recommend it, especially to viewers in their late forties and beyond
There are a few small parts played by older stars (Sally Struthers, Veronica Cartwright) that might make older viewers smile, but they’re mostly wasted on meaningless jokes about old people and sex.
Set in the influential New York music scene of the early 60s, A Complete Unknown follows 19-year-old Minnesota musician Bob Dylan’s (Timothée Chalamet) meteoric rise as a folk singer to concert halls and the top of the charts – his songs and mystique becoming a worldwide sensation – culminating in his groundbreaking electric rock and roll…

(2024). 7.0/10 (Recommend)I've articulated so much in my head for this review that by the time I wrote it down it turned into what you're about to read. It's not my favorite, and will probably not be as helpful as I was hoping for….Anime is my least favorite genre so much so that I don't watch it unless I have a friend that tries to show me a show.
The voice acting felt off
That being said, I was a little cautious going into this movie. I love "The Lord of the Rings" (LOTR), but don't like anime, so it was going to be a tricky balance. Overall I found the film to be mediocrely good. It was a weak 7, but a strong 6.The film was weak in a few spots for me. I felt that to try and get it to work it fell on the original movies with certain phrases and actions thus not allowing it to stand on its own. While it worked for the female characters, the male characters felt off with the accents. The last thing was the glaring reality of it being an anime.
It just didn't seem to fit the Middle-Earth reality
Animated would have been good, but Anime just didn't sit right. The good take was the story. I really liked it and the fact that it wasn't some knockoff tale. My favorite part of the entire movie was the heroine, Hera. For me, she became the heroine I wanted Èowyn to be. Obviously this story is about Hèra so we have a lot more depth in her tale. Despite not liking anime's, I will admit that the visuals were good, but distracting with some of the action sequences.Overall, the music isn't going to make this one a great movie. I would recommend seeing the film, but not necessarily in theaters.
Happy watching and enjoy the show!
The story is good, but telling it through anime just didn't sit right. The voice acting wasn't great from the male perspective, but I loved the heroine aspect to the entire film. It made me happy to have a strong female lead who was kick ass. That's it for now. Thanks for taking the time to read my review.
