At the 1965 Newport Folk Festival, a young Bob Dylan burst onto the folk scene, playing electric guitar and making rock the voice of a generation that defined one of the most defining moments in 20th-century music. Scenes depicting the 1965 Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island, where Bob Dylan performed his electric guitar in public for the first time, were filmed at a seaside resort in Cape May, New Jersey. Due to the resort’s commitment to its National Historic Landmark designation, due to its focus on Victorian architecture as well as other 19th and 20th century architectural motifs, only minimal renovations were required.
