(2024). 7.0/10 (Recommend)I've articulated so much in my head for this review that by the time I wrote it down it turned into what you're about to read. It's not my favorite, and will probably not be as helpful as I was hoping for….Anime is my least favorite genre so much so that I don't watch it unless I have a friend that tries to show me a show.
The voice acting felt off
That being said, I was a little cautious going into this movie. I love "The Lord of the Rings" (LOTR), but don't like anime, so it was going to be a tricky balance. Overall I found the film to be mediocrely good. It was a weak 7, but a strong 6.The film was weak in a few spots for me. I felt that to try and get it to work it fell on the original movies with certain phrases and actions thus not allowing it to stand on its own. While it worked for the female characters, the male characters felt off with the accents. The last thing was the glaring reality of it being an anime.
It just didn't seem to fit the Middle-Earth reality
Animated would have been good, but Anime just didn't sit right.The good take was the story. I really liked it and the fact that it wasn't some knockoff tale. My favorite part of the entire movie was the heroine, Hera. For me, she became the heroine I wanted Èowyn to be. Obviously this story is about Hèra so we have a lot more depth in her tale. Despite not liking anime's, I will admit that the visuals were good, but distracting with some of the action sequences.Overall, the music isn't going to make this one a great movie. I would recommend seeing the film, but not necessarily in theaters.

The story is good, but telling it through anime just didn't sit right. The voice acting wasn't great from the male perspective, but I loved the heroine aspect to the entire film. It made me happy to have a strong female lead who was kick ass.That's it for now. Thanks for taking the time to read my review.
